Amikeco

This was the title of a conversation between us in early days.

You forget things easily. In the past, we used to be friends. Good friends. Literally best friends. We used to talk about everything, and there was no one else who could understand us better. We belonged together.

At one point, We promised ourselves to always remain friends, no matter what will happen. We promised that friendship would be our primary thing, and if there would be any romance between us, it would be no more important than our friendship. We were soulmates.

I guess you don't remember that promise.

***

You said things are gonna change, but we will still be friends. But believe me, your attitude toward me is not an attitude of someone who wants to keep a friendship. It's an attitude of abandoning.

Purging emails and texts alone explains a lot. It means you want to forget, not keep. Not wanting to see me and refusing to take things from me explains even more. These along with not contacting me for a long time (exactly when you know I couldn't be doing well) puts it straight there that you're avoiding me.

After you said things should change, I desperately needed some reassurance that our friendship is still there, and your reactions to my attempts meant an almost clear, big "NO" to me.

Am I not right to think that you don't care about me anymore?

PS. Please don't make any comment if you read this. Let it go. Confirming what I already know and saying "sorry" will just make me more depressed. Let me still have some ray of hope that maybe this world is not as empty as it seems, that some things may still matter. Thanks! :-)
